## Market Structure

The spot market (where price is quoted) is a thin market; most uranium is traded on long-term contracts (5-15 year) between utilities and producers. Spot prices can be volatile but the **long-term contract price is the real structural signal** — utilities sign it when they are confident in reactor lives and need fuel security.
