Chips whose personality is written in software.
Chips whose personality is written in software. An xcore part is a grid of deterministic, timing-guaranteed cores you program yourself, so one piece of silicon can be a multichannel USB audio interface, a far-field microphone array with echo cancellation and beamforming, a motor controller or a small neural-network accelerator — decided in firmware rather than at tape-out. Their volume business is voice: the VocalFusion line that sits between the microphones and the rest of a device and does the DSP and, now, AI denoising on-device. They currently frame the whole thing as a "Generative SoC" and aim it at physical AI and robotics.
