Entered at $124.00, the close on 6 Nov; last close 30 Oct. The grade comes from the falsifier, never this number.

What would prove this wrong · verbatim, as published

The reason for holding this stops being true if the pricing goes: non-GAAP gross margin below 62% for two consecutive quarters would mean the cable has become a commodity. It also stops being true if demand turns: two consecutive quarters of sequentially lower revenue.

Rings are the falsifier’s legs. Moons are the catalysts it named. Weights are its risks, longer for higher severity.
The claim

Revenue doubled, margins held, no debt, and the shares fell by more than half. Bullish, with four customers as the reason conviction is low.

Credo: the copper cable inside the AI rack, priced for a fall

Key Points

  • Q1 FY27 revenue $479M (+115%), beating its own guide; non-GAAP gross margin 68.0%.
  • No debt; Q2 guided at $525–535M.
  • Four unnamed customers 84% of revenue; one contracting party 57% of receivables.
  • Shares fell from above $300 to $124; entry is the live 6 Nov price.

Credo makes the active electrical cables and connectivity chips that link GPUs and servers inside AI racks, where short copper links are still cheaper and cooler than optics. The business is growing fast and profitably: revenue in the quarter to 1 August 2026 was $479M, up 115% on the year, ahead of its own guidance, with a non-GAAP gross margin of 68.0% and no debt. It guided the next quarter to $525–535M at a 67–69% margin, and in May it bought DustPhotonics to add silicon photonics for the links where copper runs out. The shares tell a different story: down from a 26-week high above $300 to $124 on 6 November, after an 18% fall in a single day of the AI selloff and reports of competition in cables. The view is that the business, not the price, is the signal: as long as the margin holds near 68% and revenue keeps climbing, the cable is still the cheapest way to connect a rack, and Credo is still the one being paid for it. Conviction is LOW because the customer base is narrow. Four unnamed end customers were 84% of revenue, and one contracting party held 57% of receivables; a single hyperscaler changing its rack design moves the year. GAAP gross margin slipped to 64.5%, and stock compensation was about 18% of revenue. BULLISH, conviction LOW, one year. The entry is the live price on 6 November, not the pre-selloff close.

Bull Case

Margin holds near 68%, revenue keeps compounding, DustPhotonics adds optical revenue, and the customer base widens.

Bear Case

What I'd have to believe for the other side: the selloff is information. Cable competition is real, a business this concentrated can lose a customer in a quarter, and copper's place in the rack shrinks as optics get cheaper.

Customer concentrationHigh

Four customers are 84% of revenue; one design change moves the year.

Competition and opticsMedium

Rival cable makers and a faster shift to optics could squeeze price.
