Alphabet is the only company that owns every layer of the AI build: its own chips (TPUs), its own datacentres, its own frontier models and the largest consumer surfaces to put them in. In the quarter to September 2026 Google Cloud revenue was $30.7B, up 103%, at an operating margin of 36.2%, and Cloud's backlog reached $560.8B; TPU system sales are now, in the company's words, a meaningful contributor to growth. Search, the business AI was meant to break, still grew 12%, and the Gemini app has a billion users. Alphabet holds $265B of cash and securities, and in September the ad-tech case ended in behavioural remedies rather than a break-up. Conviction is MEDIUM because the spending has passed the cash. Capex was $51.4B in the quarter and free cash flow −$9.1B; buybacks are at zero for the year; debt rose to $125.1B from $46.5B, with $12.4B of shares sold through an at-the-market programme and a mandatory convertible preferred issued; and the company says 2027 investment will increase significantly. Part of the backlog leans on AI labs, and $16.8B is from a related-party venture. Alphabet's TPUs are co-designed with Broadcom, the subject of MenFem's Broadcom call. BULLISH, conviction MEDIUM, three years. The direction is Connor's; the conviction is on MenFem's research recommendation. The entry is the live US quote on 6 November 2026.
Amazon: AWS is accelerating, and it is lending to its biggest customers
AWS grew 39% with a $578B backlog and is guided above 40% for two more years. Bullish, at medium conviction: free cash flow is deep in the red and Anthropic is both a customer and a ~$239B holding.
Q3 2026: AWS $46.0B (+39%), operating margin ~39%; backlog $578B.
Jassy: AWS growth projected above 40% in 2027 and 2028.
