Meta is the one large AI spender with no cloud to rent its compute out to, so every dollar of the build has to come back through its own products, and so far the product paying for it is advertising. In the quarter to September 2026 revenue was $64.6B, up 26%, with ad impressions up 10% and the price per ad up 14%, while headcount fell 15%. It launched Muse, its first frontier model, and raised the floor of its 2026 capex guide to $135–145B. Conviction is LOW because the build has outrun the cash. Capex including finance leases was $34.9B in the quarter and free cash flow was −$2.1B; buybacks have stopped; and in the two weeks after results Meta raised about $52B: $12.5B of mandatory convertible preferred, about $25B of shares sold forward, and $15.0B of notes at 5.85–7.50%, the longest due in 2056. Leases not yet started reached $355.7B and non-cancelable commitments $454.5B, beside two off-balance-sheet datacentre ventures. A $9.89B settlement with state attorneys general cut the quarter's operating margin to 20%. MenFem's Vistra call rests in part on Meta's nuclear agreements. BULLISH, conviction LOW, three years. The direction is Connor's; the conviction is on MenFem's research recommendation. The entry is the live US quote on 6 November 2026.
Alphabet: the full stack, from the chip to the chatbot, and the cloud doubling on it
Google Cloud doubled at a 36% margin on its own TPUs, with a $568B backlog, while Search still grew 12%. Bullish, at medium conviction: free cash flow turned negative and capex rises again in 2027.
Q3 2026: revenue $127.6B (+25%); Search +12%.
Google Cloud $30.7B (+103%), margin 36.2%; Cloud backlog $560.8B.
