Astera Labs makes the chips that connect the parts of an AI rack: retimers, memory controllers, cable modules and now fabric switches. It is growing faster than almost anything in the rack. In the quarter to September 2026 revenue was $584.9M, up 154% on the year and 49% on the quarter, above its own guidance, at a 72% gross margin and a 45% operating margin before stock pay (31% after). Scorpio fabric switches became its largest product family, it has $1.4B of cash and no debt, and it guided the December quarter to $730–750M, about 26% more. We are WATCHING rather than buying because of who the revenue comes from. One customer was 53% of the quarter's revenue, against 23% a year earlier, and 58% of receivables; the top three were 77%. Stock pay was $82.6M, about 14% of revenue, double a year earlier, and the shares fell about 20% on 5 November, roughly half their level a month before. Broadcom, Marvell (now buying Lumentum) and Credo compete for the same rack; Credo is a MenFem call, and the queued optics-versus-copper thesis covers the same layer. The test is whether growth holds as the sales spread beyond one buyer. WATCHING, conviction MEDIUM, one year. This view was formed by MenFem's research process at Connor's request and adopted by him. The entry is the live US quote on 6 November 2026.
Credo: the copper cable inside the AI rack, priced for a fall
Revenue doubled, margins held, no debt, and the shares fell by more than half. Bullish, with four customers as the reason conviction is low.
Q1 FY27 revenue $479M (+115%), beating its own guide; non-GAAP gross margin 68.0%.
No debt; Q2 guided at $525–535M.
